How the calculator works
  • Revenue: selling price multiplied by the number of sales.
  • Profit: revenue minus direct costs, other variable costs, sales fees, and fixed monthly costs.
  • Profit margin: estimated profit divided by revenue, multiplied by 100.
  • Markup: the difference between selling price and direct cost, expressed as a percentage of direct cost.
  • Break-even sales: the number of whole sales needed to cover fixed costs, based on the contribution earned per sale.
  • Target margin pricing: estimates the selling price needed to achieve your chosen margin after percentage fees and per-sale costs, excluding fixed costs from the per-sale price calculation.
  • Target markup pricing: adds your chosen markup to direct cost. Other variable costs and payment fees are still included when estimating profit.
